What this award recognises

Recognises connectivity that has improved access to government services, education, healthcare and economic opportunity.

Who may enter

Licensed operators, connectivity partners, public entities and municipalities.

What this award looks for

Reach into places that were not reached before, and a model that keeps running after the launch.

How entries are judged in this category

C1, the work. The network or service built, and how well it works.
C2, the difference it made. Who can now get online, reach services, learn or earn who could not before.
Reach and inclusion. Whether it reaches South Africans who were not reached before, and whether it can be sustained locally rather than only while funding lasts.

A coverage map or a site list.
Usage figures. Letters from schools, clinics or municipalities you now serve.
The funding and maintenance model. Local jobs created or people trained to keep it running.
